What Are You Doing To Conserve Our Environment?
What are you doing to conserve our environment? Anything that contribute positively to our environment. It doesn’t have to be a big thing. But anything that doesn’t harm the nature.
Plastic pollution in our Environment
We recently banned use of plastic bags in Kenya, but still have people using them in secret. Are you part of that crew. Do you understand why we should not be using plastic bags. Or you just avoid them just because NEMA advised against them.
When purchasing a re-usable bag, what do you check? Price, Quality, Size or fashion. Same applies to shopping items that have been packaged using plastic bags. Do you ever think of all the packages that end-up in your groceries?
You don’t have to plant trees, participate in protests or do all that stuff, to conserve environment. Little things at home matters too in big way. If you are able to plant the trees or protest against things harming environment, well and good. But if you are not in position to do so. Do it your way.
Whatever you get involved with should be environmental friendly. All your decisions should have environment at heart. Ensuring that our actions don’t lead us to pollute it.
What about our littering habits?
This also includes the tiny sweet wrappings, used mobile phone credit cards, etc. The ones we ignorantly throw carelessly all over the place. Yet we have several dustbins in most places we pass through.
This also affects our matatus and roadsides. Despite having dustbins inside the Matatus, we still have people throwing waste through the moving vehicles. Not caring where that waste end up and its effect on our environment.
The same way we wouldn’t allow anyone to little our homes, cars and living space. We should extend the same to the bigger part of our environment.
Conserving our environment is key to a quality life all living organisms. Be part of the solution and not the problem.
Whatever little or big thing you can do to conserve our environment, please do. It needs all the help it can get to get over all the damage we have been causing it over the years.
We need mother nature, and not the other way round.
